What is Carpentry?
Types of Carpenters
Carpentry can be divided into two categories.
1st fix carpenters focus on the structural works of buildings, including Framing, walls, rood rafters, floors, beams, roofing etc.
2nd fix carpenters specialise in finishes. This includes, cabinetry, Stairs, trims, architrave, skirting boards etc.
We are fortunate to have highly skilled carpenters in both the above.
What is carpentry?
Carpentry is one of the oldest skilled trades. Built on the basics of building and shaping wood, the history of carpentry has been traced back to 8000BC when stone axes were used to construct shelters. Todays modern technology has added precision and speed to carpentry tasks. However, many of the techniques used today have been passed down and have remained the same for hundreds of years. Carpenters play an important part in all aspects of building work from foundation to roof and all that’s in between.
